WELCOME TO RON WICKMAN ARCHITECT

As an architect born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, I have always been amazed by our copious sunshine, beautiful blue skies and vast open spaces that surround us daily. Natural light is the architect’s greatest design tool, with the manipulation of space as close second. However, the single greatest influence on my design sensibility is the fact that I grew up with my father being in a wheelchair.

WHAT IS ACCESSIBILITY?

Accessible Architecture is just good design. The desire to create positive accessibility in any building or space should be no different than the desire to bring in effective and sometimes poetic natural light. Designing for maximum accessibility is just good design, and good design does not cost more than bad design.
